Way of the Samurai
Restore health:
Press Start to pause game play, then hold L1 + L2 and press
Down, Up, Down, Up, Right, Left, Circle. Note: This cannot
be done in versus mode. In the PAL version of the game, press
Start to pause game play, then hold L1 + R1 and press Right,
Up, Left, Down, Right, Left, Circle. In the Japanese version
of the game, press Start to pause game play, then hold L1 + L2
and press Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Square. In the
Japanese "Complete" version of the game, press Start to pause
game play, then hold L1 + R1 and press Up, Down, Left, Right,
Up, Down, Triangle.
Increase sword durability:
Press Start to pause game play, then hold R1 + R2 and press
Right(2), Left(2), Down, Up, Circle. The main player's currently
equipped sword will increase in hardness by one. Repeat as
needed to reach the maximum hardness of five. This cannot be
done in versus mode. In the PAL version of the game, press
Start to pause game play, then hold L1 + R2 and press Down(2),
Left(2), Right, Up, Circle. In the Japanese version of the
game, press Start to pause game play, then hold R1 + R2 and
press Right(7), Left, Down, Up, Square. In the Japanese
"Complete" version of the game, press press Start to pause
game play, then hold L2 + R2 and press Left, Right, Left,
Right, Up(2), Triangle.
All sword skills:
Press Start to pause game play in versus mode, then hold R1 and
press R2(2), L1(2), L2(2), release R1, and press R2. In the
Japanese version of the game, pause game play during versus mode,
then hold R1 and press Left(2), Right(2), L1(2), L2(2), L1, Right,
Left. In the Japanese "Complete" version of the game, pause game
play during versus mode, then press L2, R2, L2, R2, L1(2), R1 + Square.
Random sword:
Hold L1 + R1 then press Circle, Down(2), Up(2), Down, Up, Circle
at the sword inventory screen. A sound will confirm correct code
entry. One random sword will be added to your inventory, with random
attributes. In the PAL version of the game, press Start to pause
game play, then hold L2 + R1 and press Square(2), Left(2), Square,
Right, Circle. In the Japanese version of the game, press L1, Up,
Down, R2, Left, Right, L1, Up, Down, then hold L1 + L2 + R1 and
press Square at the sword inventory screen. In the Japanese
"Complete" version of the game, press Down(4), Right(2), Left(3),
Right at the sword inventory screen.
Increase brightness:
Hold L2 then L1 and rotate the Left Analog-stick several times in
either direction while both buttons are held. Your character's eye
will begin to flash and will illuminate your surroundings at night.
This can also be done during intermission sequences. In the Japanese
version of the game, hold R1 and rotate the Left Analog-stick
several times in either direction.
Change characters:
Press L1, R1(2), L2(3), R2(2), R2 + Square at new game menu with the
face, clothes, and sword options. Press Left or Right to choose a
character. In the Japanese version of the game, highlight the name
entry prompt for the main player at the character selection screen,
then press L1, R1, L2, R2, L2, R1, L1, Left(4), R2 + Square. In the
Japanese "Complete" version of the game, highlight the name entry
prompt for the main player at the character selection screen, then
press L1, R1, L1, R1, L2(2), R2 + Square.
Battle mode:
Hold L1 + R1, then press Circle + Square at the title screen.
Control title screen:
Press Square at the title screen after the cherry blossoms stop
to have more fall. Hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press Square to have
a large number of blossoms fall.
Play as Manji (Japanese version):
Get 2000 game points and save the game. Start a new game and
enter ma n ji as a name.
Unlock all faces, clothes, versus mode characters and maps:
Get 3,000 points in the story mode. The new options will not
unlock at the same time. The will become available as you get
points. The best way to do this is to play the game under the
normal or hard difficulty setting. Get Rich Samurai rank
(normal or hard), Random Slasher (hard), Beast King (normal or hard),
or any of the other good ranks under those difficulties.
